TRANSCRIBER’S NOTE
The above two poems were found in an envelope addressed to Miss Abbie Jaquith, Charlestown,
Mass. No date is legible on the envelope. The following note was added on the envelope: “To be given
to Jerome Clark with the rest of my Father’s letters. [???] S. P.”
Note that in the second poem, the name “Allie” has been added in parentheses after the name
“Nellie.”
The reverse side of the above clippings were also scanned, but the subjects (an article about a
school finance committee meeting and an advertisement) are not relevant.
